This research project focused on the social nature of learning and mathematical thinking. The findings were turned into an article for ASPE to articulate the
challenges faced when considering the pedagogical potential of turning mathematical thinking into a co-dependent cognitive practice within a primary classroom. It studied the importance of oracy in supporting every pupil’s ability to think and reason mathematically.
